Dear Friend,

Greetings on behalf of the Lancaster County National Day of Prayer Task Force and Shirley Dobson, National Chairman. We’re looking forward to a refreshing, exciting celebration in this special election year with events planned for April 30 and May 1, 2008.

This year’s theme is “Prayer!  America’s Strength and Shield.”  What a fantastic reminder of our Christian heritage coupled with the challenge to stand together for our great nation!  Psalm 28:7 tells us that “The Lord is my strength and shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped.”  Isn’t it a comfort in these challenging days to be reminded of this important insight?  While we already offer prayers to the Lord on the other 364 days of the year, the Spirit calls us together once again to share in the experience as a community, reviving our lives, our homes and our nation.

For 2008, we’re thrilled to welcome Experiencing God: Revised Edition co-author Richard Blackaby, helping to lead us in an exciting Celebration of Prayer this year.  Richard is the co-author of Experiencing God: Revised Edition with his father, Henry, with a long tradition in ministry and leadership.  He’s also authored or co-authored 18 other books and is in great demand for his speaking skills.  National Day of Prayer 2008 is one year you won’t want to miss!

We’d like to invite you to be a special part of all the events we have planned for the National Day of Prayer on Wednesday, April 30 and Thursday, May 1. Working directly with Shirley Dobson for the past 11 years, I can assure you that our commitment has never been stronger; nor has the need ever been greater.

We’re looking forward to a wonderful 2008—won’t you come take part?
